Met the New Potter Gassan in Kyoto

Hello, I am Yuki, an owner of the Japanese bonsai pots online store YUKIMONO.

Last week I could meet a potter that I wanted to see.
He is Takao Nagata and his professional name as a potter is Gassan(月山).
He was born and raised Kyoto.

He opened his kiln in Kyoto in 1990 and has been making Japanese traditional pottery called Kiyomizu-yaki. His mail work is tableware, however sometimes he makes bonsai pots with technique of Kiyomizu-yaki and create wonderful pieces.

Attending to Monaco Expo Bonsai 2017

I, the owner of Japanese bonsai pots store YUKIMONO, am attending to the bonsai exhibition “Monaco Expo Bonsai 2017” be scheduled from 9~11th June.
I am honored to participate in it and have a small stand with “TERRE EN VADROUILLE/ MIKADO.” I am so excited and looking forward to seeing old/new bonsai friends and appreciating French/Monacan (or Mediterranean?) bonsai.

Few years ago, I was charmed by some photos of the bonsai exhibition on my Facebook timeline. The place in the photos looked outside garden, many beautiful and colorful small bonsai were displayed and the people looked enjoying. Beyond was beautiful blue in the Mediterranean and the landscape was very impressive. It was Monaco and I wished I could visit such exhibition someday.
Now my dream will come true in a couple of days.

As I wrote about  “Noelanders Trophy” in Belgium and the bonsai exhibition in Albi, France, this time I will have some interview and write an article about the Monaco Expo for the Japanese bonsai magazine “Bonsai World” as well. I am sure that many Japanese bonsai enthusiasts are very interested in Monaco Expo Bonsai. It is difficult for us to imagine that the bonsai exhibition is held in Monaco where is famous in F1 or the rose of Princess Grace.

I am grateful to the organizers of Monaco Expo Bonsai 2017.
